CASMaT, Villum Center for Advanced Structural and Material Testing, is the key research infrastructure at DTU servicing experimental research in mechanics of materials and structures. The center is organized to align use of equipment and expertise at DTU across a range of application areas and length scales.
The Center merges DTU’s strong competences in experimental mechanics and creates a synergetic framework for the research community at DTU. The Center collaborates with similar facilities nationally and internationally to strengthen the international network of mechanical experimental and testing facilities.
The establishment of the center was made possible through a donation from Villum Fonden of DKK 76 mill.
DTU and The Danish Building & Property Agency co-funded two buildings erected on Lyngby and Risø Campus to house equipment and activities.
